Kärcher Romania is actively involved in the life of the municipality of Timișoara and has cleaned one of the city's landmarks – the St. George's Square, which is part of the cultural heritage.

The historical roots of St. George's Square go back to 1323, when the existence of the Church of St. George was first documented. Today, this iconic square is home to the statue of St. George and the ruins of the old church.

As part of the cleaning project, Kärcher Romania restored the beauty of the pavement, stairs, concrete walls and statue to bring this historic place back to life.

The pedestal of the statue in the square was cleaned with dry ice to remove deposits. The statue was washed with low-pressure water without detergents to protect the structure of the material. In sensitive areas of the pedestal and in areas with material build-up, the use of a steam cleaner was preferred to avoid damage to the lithic material.

Professional vacuuming, scrubbing and steam cleaning removed heavy dirt, coffee stains and weathering deposits from the travertine-clad stairs.

These procedures were also extended to the cleaning of access stairs, side walls made of concrete, and ceramic as well as andesite tiles. All the tasks were carefully carried out by specialists of Kärcher, using sensitive techniques to ensure the preservation of the monument.
