AUTOMATIC DISINFECTION WITHOUT CHEMICALS.
With Kärcher Thermo!Secure, the WPD devices in the Thermo!Secure range include a hygiene feature that sets new standards. The system automatically cleans and disinfects not only all water-carrying lines with hot water, but also the Hy-Protect filter up to the water dispensing area. The interval can be set manually, from weekly cleaning and disinfection to a four-week cycle.
The patented method does not use any chemicals and functions without any need for manual input. For drinking water in food-grade quality. Also in sensitive areas such as hospitals, authorities and food processing.
Step 1: heating and preparing the circuit
The drinking water is heated to over 70 °C in the internal boiler. An integrated pump allows the hot water to circulate in the disinfection cycle until the first water line and the Hy-Protect filter have reached the target temperature.
Step 2: all water circuits are thermally cleaned one after the other
Once the target temperature has been reached, the various lines are systematically switched on. The output valve is also flushed so that thermal disinfection reaches as far as the water dispenser and thus the last millimetre.
Step 3: flushing and restarting
After around 60 minutes, all water-carrying components will have been thermally disinfected. The hot water used is automatically flushed into a canister or directly into the wastewater connection. Then the device is ready for operation again.
ACTIVE-PURE AND HY-PROTECT FILTERS: DOUBLE FILTERING FOR A BETTER TASTE.
Kärcher water dispensers are equipped with 2-stage filter systems which ensure pure water quality. Thanks to the combination of Active-Pure filter and Hy-Protect filter the water is thoroughly cleaned – chemicals and microorganisms are removed, and the taste is improved.
Active-Pure filter – for better taste and chemical purity
The Active-Pure filter contains a sintered active carbon block and targets undesired residues affecting taste or health. It makes a noticeable improvement to the taste of the water and reliably reduces chlorine, heavy metals, drug residues, hormones and other organic contamination.
Hy-Protect filter – for microbiological safety
The system is complemented by the Hy-Protect filter with ultrafiltration technology. The fine-pored membrane reliably removes microplastics, bacteria and viruses from the water – without affecting important minerals.
Hy-Pure-Plus filter – compact performance in the WPD 25
With the Kärcher WPD 25, the combined filter technology is used in a single unit: the Hy-Pure-Plus filter combines the functions of Active-Pure and Hy-Protect in a compact module. This way smaller sites or space-critical applications also benefit from the full filter capacity.

WATER DISPENSER WITH TOUCH PROTECTION: CLEVERLY DESIGNED FOR HYGIENE.
With the Kärcher WPD water dispensers the dispensing unit is designed so that direct contact with drinking containers is avoided. The integrated touch protection reliably prevents glasses, bottles or carafes from coming into contact with the water dispenser, thus reducing the risk of germs being transmitted or residues being left behind.
KÄRCHER GERMLOCK™: PROTECTS AGAINST RETROGRADE CONTAMINATION.
The output valve on the Kärcher WPD 45 and WPD 70 water dispensers is equipped with a mechanical safeguard that effectively blocks the penetration of germs through the water dispenser. Kärcher GermLock™ prevents what is known as retrograde contamination; this means it protects the entire water-carrying unit against backward contamination from the surrounding area. The effectiveness of the safeguard mechanism was confirmed by an independent, external laboratory.
AUTOMATIC FLUSHING: CONTROLLED FLUSHING FOR HYGIENIC OPERATION.
The Kärcher WPD 45 and WPD 70 devices have a built-in automatic flushing function. At defined intervals (can be set from 12 to 24 hours), a certain amount of water is guided through the device and flushed out. This regular flushing ensures continuously hygienic operation. The water quality thus remains constantly high. Even with irregular use or longer downtimes.
ROBUST GLASS FRONT: HYGIENIC AND EASY TO CLEAN.
The user interface of the Kärcher WPD water dispensers is made of high-quality tempered safety glass. Compared to plastic surfaces, it is scratch-resistant, dirt-repellent and offers practically no chance for germs and residues.
In addition, only touch-sensitive buttons without mechanical splitting are used. This reduces potential dirt deposits and makes cleaning much easier.
Delivery
From production to delivery: kept dry and hygienic right down to the very first drop.
A special testing procedure with helium as well as the subsequent filling with protective gases ensures that no moisture remains inside the devices after production. The gases used inhibit the growth of microorganisms and guarantee a hygienic system environment.
Regular quality assurance tests confirm the perfectly hygienic condition of the devices after production, storage and transport.
